AVAILABLE IN DIFFERENT FORMATS

Day 1 — Letting God Hold Your Heart
In the first entry the author shares that when grief leaves you breathless God comes close — not with thunder but with a quiet, holding presence.
Short quote (display): “God kneels beside us in the dust of our sorrow and holds what’s left of our hearts.”
Day 5 — When Tears Become Prayers
Tears become a form of prayer; they are not wasted but are the seeds from which joy can grow.
Short quote (display): “Tears aren’t signs of weakness; they are proof of love, faith, and hope still alive within us.”
Day 14 — Learning to Smile Again
Laughter returns slowly; joy and grief can coexist — smiling does not betray the depth of your love, it testifies to healing.
Short quote (display): “Joy doesn’t erase our sorrow, it steadies us beneath its weight.”
ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Desiree!
My name is Desiree A. Heartwell. Throughout my profession, I have served as a nurse for over 17 years, dedicating my life to caring for elderly patients living with dementia. Over the years, I have held trembling hands, comforted those taking their final breaths, and stood beside patients who passed away without family by their side. In those sacred moments, my purpose was to help them find comfort and peace as they transitioned from this life. My journey has also been marked by deep personal loss—grief that still lingers within me. When I began writing this devotional, I wasn’t writing as an author, but as a woman searching for peace—someone trying to release the ache and sorrow of losing loved ones. As you read through this devotional, please know that I understand your pain. I have walked the path of grief, and together we will move through these 30 days of prayers, hymns, and scriptures. My hope is that by the end of this journey, you will find comfort, rest, and renewed strength. There are moments for reflection within these pages. If you feel the need to cry - cry, tears are a form of release and healing. If your heart feels heavy, remember that you are not alone.
